Brandenburg

CreArtBox teams up with the Arte String Quartet for the second installment of the 2019 CreArt Music Series. The focal point is Bach's Brandenburg Concerto No. 5, part of a six-concerto series presented to the Margrave of Brandenburg- Schwedt in 1721. The event, held at the Renee Weiler Concert Hall, showcases the musicianship of each artist. The program also includes works by Benjamin Britten and Philip Lasser, featuring Britten's String Quartet No. 2 and Lasser' s Ballade for flute & string quartet, exploring both traditional and contemporary musical landscapes. The evening concludes with the premiere of Evan O. Adams' Branden Bird Can Share Too, a new commission deconstructing and reconstructing aspects of Bach's concerto.
