Threshold brings together music and visual art in a concert experience that explores states of transition, vulnerability, and resonance. Presented by CreArtBox, the program features violinist Emilie-Anne Gendron and pianist Josefina Urraca in a program that traces a compelling arc from Classical clarity to late-Romantic intensity and contemporary expression.

At the core of the evening are two landmarks of the violin repertoire: Violin Sonata No. 2 by Ludwig van Beethoven, a work of elegance and balance that highlights dialogue and clarity, and the Violin Sonata in A major by César Franck, whose expansive lyricism and cyclical structure have made it a cornerstone of the violin repertoire. Between and around these sonatas, short interludes composed by Guillermo Laporta function as moments of suspension and passage, creating thresholds between musical worlds and reshaping the listener’s perception of continuity and form.

The concert is conceived in close collaboration with visual artist Cynthia Reynolds, who develops Threshold as an interdisciplinary installation extending her ongoing exploration of safety, material memory, and architectural fragility. The work consists of large-scale sculptural structures made from salvaged urban packaging materials, foam voids, air cushions, molded plastics, and industrial waste, arranged to form a walkable environment of fragmented entryways and broken shelters.

Throughout the performance, the installation is activated through light, shadow, and spatial presence, responding to the music and the acoustic character of the space. By integrating live sound into the sculptural environment, the work reinforces themes of protection and disintegration and opens a space where sound, material, and architecture interact over time.
