Perennial

Perennial
"Perennial" is a performative installation and visual concert by Sarah K Williams and CreArtBox. Merging sculpture, video, and gestural movement, the project explores the complexities of human psychological and social defense mechanisms in relation to the natural world. Can survival strategies in plants help us better understand the defense mechanisms of the people around us? How do plants adapt to changing environments to become more resilient, persevering year after year? What can these mechanisms and adaptations teach us about human connection, survival, flexibility, and our own potential for perennial growth? Brought to life through a selection of classical and contemporary music by Stravinsky, Jessie Montgomery, and Andrea Casarrubios, the resulting work will be a two-night run of a 90-minute piece featuring five musicians, four performers, and an installation of original sculpture and video.
