CreArtBox creates and produces live art performances, fusing classical and contemporary music with original ideas encouraged by multidisciplinary interaction, and works to make world-class performances accessible to everyone regardless of background or economic circumstance.

Recognized by The New Yorker as one of its "art and music top picks," praised by Time Out as "an ensemble devoted to multidisciplinary events," and described by BroadwayWorld as "wholly authentic, visually and aurally compelling," the ensemble is known for enhancing the listening experience of live music through theatrical design while preserving the integrity of each composition.

It was founded in New York City in 2013 by flutist Guillermo Laporta and pianist Josefina Urraca, who continue as its artistic directors, and is now in its 12th season; the project was originally conceived in Europe in 2006 as Cre.Art Project. With headquarters in New York City and Asturias, Spain, CreArtBox gives its New York Series at The DiMenna Center for Classical Music, tours internationally, and runs a printed magazine, a streaming platform, a live music podcast, an open call and commissioning program for composers, and Festival ADAR in rural Spain.

The performance that most defines its identity is the visual concert, in which visual art and theatrical design surround live classical and contemporary music; the ensemble also plays traditional chamber programs, which have taken it to Japan, Spain, Europe, Canada and the east coast of the United States.

An open Call for Scores has run since the first season, bringing works by Pulitzer Prize winners and emerging composers alike into the programmes. CreArtBox is supported by the New York State Council on the Arts, the NYC Department of Cultural Affairs, the Amphion Foundation, the Alice M. Ditson Fund and the Aaron Copland Fund for Music, among others.
