This program blends works by some of the greatest Spanish composers, such as Joaquín Turina, Manuel de Falla, and Enrique Granados, with pieces by lesser-known figures like Antonio Soler and the innovative new wave represented by Andrea Casarrubios. From the reflective "Mensajes del Agua" (2013) and "Afilador" (2020) by Casarrubios to the folk-inspired richness of Turina's "Piano Quartet in A minor" (1931), the elegant minuets of Soler's "Piano Quintet" (1766), and the passionate folk songs of de Falla's "Siete canciones populares" (1914), concluding with Granados's romantic and dynamic "Piano Quintet in G minor" (1894). Together, these pieces create a cohesive style that celebrates the spirit and evolution of Spanish music, offering perspectives from different points of view.
