CreArt Music Series: Todd Reynolds, Luke DuBois & CreArtBox

Multimedia music group, CreArtBox, presents the second edition of the CreArt Music Series with two amazing guests:

Violinist and composer Todd Reynolds and video artist Luke Dubois

Running through May of 2017, CreArtBox will unveil five performances that mix classical and contemporary music with cutting edge technology. The endeavor includes an array of talented, renown musicians, and a cast of dancers and visual artists. Thus, the collaboration will be a must-see event in the city’s musical community.

Todd Reynolds is known as one of the founding fathers of the hybrid-musician movement and one of the most active and versatile proponents of what he calls ‘present music’. For years the violinist of choice for Steve Reich, Meredith Monk, Bang on a Can, and a founder of the string quartet known as Ethel, his compositional and performance style is a hybrid of old and new technology, multi-disciplinary aesthetic and pan-genre composition and improvisation. His double-disc debut album Outerborough was released in 2011 on the Innova label.

Luke DuBois

Guest artist


R. Luke DuBois is a composer, artist, and performer who explores the temporal, verbal, and visual structures of cultural and personal ephemera. He holds a doctorate in music composition from Columbia University, and has lectured and taught worldwide on interactive sound and video performance. He has collaborated on interactive performance, installation, and music production work with many artists and organizations including Toni Dove, Todd Reynolds, Jamie Jewett, Bora Yoon, Michael Joaquin Grey, Matthew Ritchie, Elliott Sharp, Michael Gordon, Maya Lin, Bang on a Can, Engine 27, Harvestworks, and LEMUR, and was the director of the Princeton Laptop Orchestra for its 2007 season.

CreArtBox is an award winning multidisciplinary music ensemble based in New York City led by flutist Guillermo Laporta and pianist Josefina Urraca and known for its merging of classical and contemporary music, with visual art, stunning stage design, and cutting-edge technology.

Receiving over 20 international awards he has also worked with conductors Rossen Milanov, Peter Stark, The National Orchestra of Malta, The symphony Orchestra of Asturias, The BBC Singers and The Hebrides Ensemble, The RCM Symphony Orchestra, The RSAMD Chamber Orchestra and ensembles. His music has been published by Periferia Music Sheet and Dinsic Edicions Musicals and has also being played at international festivals and venues like the National Concert Hall of Taiwan, DeSingel (Belgium), L’Auditori (Barcelona), Palacio de Congresos de Barcelona, Teatre Lliure, (Barcelona), Auditorio Principe Felipe, and the Queen Sofia National Centre for Contemporary Arts (Madrid).
