On Jan 26th, CreArtBox presented the fifth edition of the CreArt Music Series at the New York Society for Ethical Culture. It was a phenomenal evening of high-quality new music, classical music, food, history and multimedia visual designs.

The group premiered the piece “Moontides” by American composer Joshua Penman (you can read an interview here).“Murder Ballades” by Bryce Dessner, was the other piece for the large ensemble, this time including a percussion set as part of the group.

The classical section of the program included the Petite Suite by Claude Debussy arranged by Michael Webster and the Kakadu Variations for Piano Trio Op.121a by Ludwig van Beethoven with an exceptional pre-concert talk by Beethoven specialist Lewis Lockwood, author of Beethoven: The Music and the Life and Beethoven’s Symphonies: An Artistic Vision.

CreArtBox performers were, flutist Guillermo Laporta, pianist Josefina Urraca, cellist Julia Yang, violinist Mélanie Clapiès, clarinetist Nicholas Gallas, and percussionist Doug Perry.
